What is the primary reason you are running for this office?  Lake Saint Louis is at a crossroads. For too long, city government has largely ignored a segment of its own population and the inevitable growth of the area. The result is a stagnant business environment and a host of disenchanted residents, both which are in dire need of attention. I bring a renewed spirit and energy to the community and would work to represent ALL residents, not just those in the CA.

What will be your single most important priority if you get elected?  My first objective will be to re-design the city ordinances with 2012 in mind, not 1980. Lake Saint Louis ordinances are antiquated and have served only to confuse, preclude and otherwise harrass residents needlessly. The same could be said for business. An organized, responsible approach to city government is necessary and should be reflected in the city code. Presently, the code reflects an older mentality, or more simply stated, LSL of the 80s where there were 2/3 less residents and no businesses. Now that it is apparent that the city wants business and resident inclusion (because it finds itself strapped for cash), new, effective changes are needed.  I have the expertise to make that happen. Not just say.

What sets you apart from other candidates?  I am proactive, not reactive the city government now finds itself.  I have the legal expertise, the ideas and skill to bring the city into the future because unlike my opponent, I actually have a plan.

That is why my opponent and other sitting officials have adopted my ideas.  They know it will work. I offer leadership and vision. Not complacency and reactionary politics.

How long have you lived in Lake Saint Louis?  13 years give or take.  First, an apartment. Then a starter home. And now a home we designed and built. I love LSL and want to see if adapt with the times.

What's your favorite thing about Lake Saint Louis?  Safety, convenience, schools.

What issues do you see facing Lake Saint Louis in the future?  Obviously, there is the money issue. LSL simply doesn’t have what it needs to keep up with its own bills. Hence, the increase in credit recently requested by city officials.  The city is suffering from its own disregard of business development and growth for over two decades because it was afraid of being transformed into something other than the sleepy, bedroom community of the 1980s. That is the fault of a few, narrow-minded individuals without the vision to pave the way for responsible growth.

There are ways to increase revenue, foster growth and achieve a sense of common purpose for ALL residents without jeopardizing city identity. ALL of the sitting Alderman and the Mayor know this.  But they have found themselves playing catch-up because the city is in need of additional funds for routine city needs. I will actually work to make things happen. I have the skills to request federal grants, increase revenue through modern means—such as including other residents in city amentities, and offering a fresh approach to a stalled city.
