CANDIDATE QUESTIONS

1. What is the primary reason you are running for this office?   I have had the pleasure the last four years to work for the residents of Ward 1. I have made myself available to listen and learn all the issues, opportunities and challenges we face as a city.  I have the ability to make decisions for the common good.  I believe in common sense solutions for complex problems.

2. What will be your single most important priority if you are elected?
To ensure all of our tax payers are treated fairly. I remain diligent to provide safe roads, ensure parks are completed in a timely manner and within budget.

3. What's your favorite thing about Wentzville?  Wentzvillians, we are a community of “doers”. Our residents like amenities of a large city, but still want the small town feel.

4. What is the biggest problem you see in Wentzville?
“Growing Pains”, Not a problem, only an opportunity to prioritize the different “needs and wants” of a growing community.

5. What is your vision for Wentzville?
Wentzville can be a thriving and affordable community for generations to come. Wentzville will have many amenities, parks, shopping and restaurants for all ages to enjoy.    A community of quality affordable homes, safe neighborhoods with easy access to the amenities Wentzville has to offer.

6. If an incumbent, why do you think you should retain your seat? If you are challenging an incumbent, what do you think qualifies you for the position more than the incumbent?
Incumbent:  I promised results, and I have delivered positive results.  I have worked diligently with your board of aldermen to reduce the city’s portion of your real estate and personal property taxes, while increasing services for you.   Slab replacements in neighborhoods, new street lights, additional police officers to keep up with the growth in our community, as well as online technological enhancements to keep up with demands, just to name a few.   I’m not afraid to address the tough issues, work hard for the common good and deliver results. I’m dedicated to YOUR seat on the Board of Alderman.  During the past four years, which I’ve had the pleasure to serve, only twice was I unable to attend a meeting to be your representative.  I’m a proven leader, independent thinker and would be honored to serve another two year term, Working For You.

READER SUBMITTED QUESTION: What leadership will you bring to the Board of Alderman and the City of Wentzville that will help avoid costly mistakes like the one currently happening with the building of the new parks, specifically like with Splash Station?     No one can predict what can go wrong on any major project. I believe flexibility in planning enhances the ability to react.  The key is to learn immediately of problems, identify the options that best protect our investment and allows us to deliver what was promised.   I will continue working with the Mayor and City Administrator, to ensure they have the necessary resources to oversee future projects. I’m a watchdog and will be diligent to ensure we keep projects moving forward, while watchful to ensure we remain within budgets.
