City's Open House to Answer Questions About Proposed Sewer Lateral Insurance Program

The open house will run from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lake Saint Louis Civic Center (city hall).

The City of Lake Saint Louis will hold an open house to discuss a proposal to adopt a Water Service and Sanitary Sewer Lateral Insurance Program for the City of Lake Saint Louis from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Mon., Oct. 24 at Lake Saint Louis Civic Center (200 Civic Center Dr.).

A press release issued by the Lake Saint Louis Department of Public Works states that the program would provide assistance to residents required to repair or replace residential water service or private sanitary sewer lateral pipes.  The program will require a yearly fee be assessed to all residential properties with utility service, and will be placed on an upcoming ballot for voter approval prior to implementation.

Lake Saint Louis Patch first reported the city's interest in developing such a plan when in March to talk about a similar plan in St. Peters.
