City to Contract for Interim City Administrator

The city of Wentzville, once again without a city administrator, will turn to Interim Public Management for help.

At a special meeting scheduled for Wed., Aug. 21, the Wentzville Board of Alderman will consider a contract for an interim city administrator.

The city was left without a city administrator upon the death of Michael McDowell on August 9. Police Chief Lisa Harrison filled the position temporarily, but the city will now seek the services of Interim Public Management (IPM) to fill the interim position.

Provisions of the contracts include a $3,100 per week payment to IPM for the interim administrator, along with lodging, the use of a city vehicle and reimbursement of expenses.

The city used IPM's services to find an interim administrator after the resignation of Dianna Wright. George Kolb served in that capacity for five months before McDowell was hired.
