City Voters Approve New Judge, Extend Mayor's Term

Wentzville voters on Tuesday elected to lengthen the term for the city's mayor, but kept terms for aldermen at two years.

The Wentzville Board of Aldermen opted to put both questions before the voters after a vote in January. The change impacts the 2012 election cycle.

The winner of the next mayoral election will serve a four-year term. Aldermen will continue to serve two-year terms.

Voters kept both incumbent aldermen, but voted incumbent municipal judge Mike Carter out of office. Stephen Martin will replace Carter as the head of Wentzville's court.

According to unofficial tallies from the St. Charles Election Authority, the final vote counts in the city are as follows. The election results will be certified in the coming weeks.

Incumbent Peggy Meyer did not run for reelection.
