Community hearings on Department of Social Services staffing cuts

Missouri Jobs with Justices invites concerned community, Missouri Department of Social Services employees and advocacy organization leaders to a series of hearings across the state. The hearings will look at the negative impacts of the hundreds of state jobs cut from the Department of Social Services, a press release states.

The department is currently developing plans to close offices.

Hearings will simultaneously occur in St. Louis, Columbia, Kirksvill, Kansas City and Springfield. They will be linked via video conference. They will include testimony from community members who will be affected by closures, Family Support Division employees and advocacy organization leaders, the release states. 

The St. Louis hearing will be held at the University of Missouri at St. Louis in Room 102 of the South Computer Building on South Campus.
