Filing for April Election Begins Tomorrow

The mayor and three aldermen seats are up for election.

Filing for municipal office in Wentzville begins tomorrow. Filing will remain open until Tuesday, Jan. 17.

is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26 for Christmas and Monday, Jan. 2, for the New Year's holiday.

The city will hold its municipal election Tuesday, April 3, 2012 One seat in each of the city's three wards is up for reelection. Aldermen serve two-year terms.

The open seats and their current representative are:

  • Ward 1 — currently held by Leon Tow;
  • Ward 2 — currently held by Vann Sample; and
  • Ward 3 — currently held by Rick Stokes.

The mayor's seat, currently held by Paul Lambi, also is up for election. This will be the first race for a four-year mayoral term. Wentzville voters approved on the April 2011 ballot.

Qualifications for Board of Aldermen

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must be a citizen of the United States
  • Must be an inhabitant and resident of the city for one year preceding the election and a resident of the ward where he/she hopes to serve at the time of filing
  • Must be a qualified city voter.

All candidates for any municipal office shall not be in arrears for unpaid city taxes. There is a $25 filing fee for city office.
