Lake Saint Louis Architectural Review Board Notes, June 21

What new projects are in the works in Lake Saint Louis neighborhoods?

At the June 21 meeting, the following applications were discussed by the Architectural Review Board (ARB), all of which were new business:

  • Screening in an existing deck and adding a deck extension to 586 Owls Perch Dr.
  • Converting a deck to a screened-on porch and adding a master bedroom closet at 2024 Waters Edge Ct.
  • Replacing deck railings and decking at 2047 Waters Edge Ct.
  • Adding an addendum to replace a portion of fence, steps and install a gate to an existing permit for 702 High Point Dr. 
  • Adding a deck to 710 Autumnwood Forest Drive
  • Approval of color selections for a new residence at 1014 Pleasant Meadow Dr.

All items were approved as submitted.

The Lake Saint Louis Architectural Review Board (ARB), according to the city's website, "meets to review and approve all new residential construction."

The description goes on to say that for the general welfare of the city, buildings and structures must conform to certain minimum architectural standards of appearance, and surrounding natural environment and existing structures. 

"Undesirable structures negatively affect the property values and the welfare of the city," the website says.

The ARB meets weekly from April through September and bi-weekly from October through March. Serving on the board are three regular members and three alternate members. Currently serving are:

  • Judith Westermann - Regular
  • Mike McCombs -  Regular
  • Joyce Corey - Regular
  • Cyndie LaRico - Alternate
  • Robin Rollins - Alternate

The board currently has a vacant Alternate position. Additionally, city staff, building inspectors and a Community Association representative attend. Aldermen rotate attendance.
