Lake Saint Louis Board Tables Ridgepointe Vote

Kemp Homes is asking for a change in the development plan to build 2-story homes.

Residents of the Villas at Ridgepointe who came to Monday night's meeting hoping for a vote on were disappointed.

The voted 3-1 to table the ordinance, which was up for a second reading and final vote.

Earlier in the evening, a Villas resident spoke during the public comment session. "We trust you to look out for our best interest. This is not in our best interest," she said. If the ordinance passed, she said, she and a lot of other people would remember it at election time.

When the motion to table the ordinance was made and seconded, Ward 3 Alderman Richard Morris asked, "What are the grounds? We’ve had readings before. I’d like to know why we can't do a roll call vote tonight. Why are you delaying this?"

Ward 2 Alderman Kathy Schweikert answered his questions by saying that there were some changes she would like to see made, and that she would also like the entire board present.
