Lake Saint Louis to Discuss New Sales Tax, Clarify Campaign Sign Regulations

The Lake Saint Louis Board of Aldermen meets on Feb. 19 for a public work session at 5:30 p.m. and a regular meeting at 7 p.m.

The Lake Saint Louis Board of Aldermen will continue a discussion about putting a new capital improvement sales tax on the August ballot.

The board's usual Monday meeting was moved to Tuesday because of the Presidents Day holiday. At 5:30, the board holds a public work session for its administration and finance committees.

On the agenda for discussion are the proposed tax, street capital improvement projects and the mid-year budget.

At 7 p.m., the board meets for its regular meeting. The board will:

  • Hear a second reading and vote on an ordinance about property owners' responsibility in maintaining yard areas on right-of-ways that are adjacent to their property.
  • Authorize an auction for surplus parks property.
  • Authorize a renewal agreement with the St. Charles County Regional Drug Task Force.
  • Vote to award a bid to Karrenbrock Construction, Inc. for the Freymuth Road Sidewalk Project.
  • Clarify the city’s regulations on the use of political campaign signs in residential areas.
  • Consider an ordinance about full color electronic message boards for churches, schools, non-profit and not-for-profit organizations.
  • Vote on a resolution to destroy "certain records that no longer have any value and have exceeded their retention requirement."
