P&Z Meeting Canceled; Kemp Homes to Negotiate with Ridgepointe Residents

Ridgepointe Villas residents have not been happy with Kemp's request to build single-family homes in the development.

City Administrator Paul Markworth announced at last night's board of aldermen meeting that the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting scheduled for Thurs., April 5 was canceled.

The only item on the agenda for the April meeting was a request by Kemp Homes to amend the development plan at Ridgepointe Villas so that single-family homes could be constructed on the empty lots. P&Z had tabled the application request at their March 1 meeting.

Kemp now plans to negotiate with Villa residents to see if some sort of agreement can be made before the May P&Z meeting.

Andrew Arras, Jr. of Argonne Meadows agreed in a comment on the Patch story. "Zoning should remain the way it was originally approved. Too many complications in making the change would result in a chaotic neighborhood," Arras said.
