Reminder: Fireworks ARE Illegal in Wentzville

The City of Wentzville would like its citizens to know that it's not only illegal to discharge fireworks in the city, it's also illegal to possess them.

Wentzville's fireworks ordinance states that:

"The Board of Aldermen finds that fireworks are harmful to the public health and safety and are hereby declared a public nuisance based on the fact that, among other things, fireworks have been determined to result in serious personal injury, fire, traffic and other accidents, property damage, excessive noise, aggravation to the City's residents and disruption of the public order."
The Wentzville Police Department will enforce this ordinance.

The city's professional Independence Day fireworks display will be at 9:05 p.m. on July 4th at Progress Park.
