Guccione Wins Wentzville's Mayoral Race

Nick Guccione defeated Leon Tow by less than 250 votes in Tuesday's election.

Nick Guccione will be the next mayor of Wentzville.

Shortly after receiving a concession from mayoral candidate Leon Tow, final results from the St. Charles County Election Authority showed that Guccione had won by 248 votes.

  • : 337 votes, 11.65 percent
  • : 1,224 votes, 42.32 percent
  • : 976 votes, 33.75 percent
  • : 351 votes, 12.14 percent
  • Write in votes 4 votes, 0.14 percent

"He ran a very effective race," Tow told campaign workers at a gathering at Wentzville's .

Tow said the really good news is that Rick Stokes (Ward 2), Forrest Gossett (Ward 1) and Sonya Shryock (Ward 3) all won their races. Shryock reportedly won her race by six votes over Jeremy Pritchett in Ward 3.

Gossett said he had heard he won by 15 votes over Jay Webber for Ward 1.

"I'm deeply gratified. My opponent ran an honorable race as did I. It was about the issues. I'm delighted, but the challenge is ahead to serve."
