Wentzville to Re-Open Application Process for Vacant Ward 3 Seat

Alderman Forrest Gossett asked the board to re-open filing for 10 business days starting Friday.

Wentzville's mayor and board of aldermen will again try to fill the Ward 3 seat that was left vacant when Aldermen Nick Guccione was elected as mayor.

The at the April meeting when Guccione was sworn in. Eventually the by which applicants could come forth and express their interest in serving the city.

From the initial pool of applicants, Guccione nominated Michael Hays, but at a July meeting. The seat has remained empty since then.

The board and mayor agreed to reopen the application process and take applications from Aug. 24 to Sept. 10.  The board hopes to have another nomination to present at a special meeting before the Sept. 12 board of aldermen meeting.
