Additional Security Planned for Holt High School After Gun Rumors

Dr. Terry Adams told parents that "no credible threat has been received."

KSDK Channel 5 reported Friday night that Wentzville School District Superintendent Dr. Terry Adams sent a note to district parents Friday about an unsubstantiated rumor of a shooting threat at Holt High School on Dec. 21.

Given the tragic events in Connecticut today, Holt High School administrators and District officials would like to make you aware of the rumors circulating about a threat involving a student with a gun coming to school on Friday, December 21. We want to let parents and students know that no credible threat has been received by school officials, but a thorough investigation is being conducted by District administrators and local law enforcement. There will be an additional police presence at the school on Friday, and the Wentzville Police Department will have officers in the building at all times during the school day.

Friday is the last day of finals at Holt High School, and our intent is to conduct our school day with minimal interruption to our instructional schedule. The safety of our students is always our primary concern, and we will always take every precaution to ensure a safe learning environment for your child. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the school office."
