- Whiz Kid: Angela Deters,

- Accomplishment: Deters was one of 11 students in St. Charles County honored by Partners for Progress of Greater St. Charles as part of its STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) initiative.
- Key To Awesomeness: She ranks number one in a class of 385 and has a 4.36 GPA. She is in an independent research class working on a project entitled “Oil Spill Reclamation Using Microbes.” The paper has been review by a University of Missouri professor and the chief engineer at a local company. Both said her work was excellent. Deters accepted the Truman Leadership Award and plans to attend Truman State University to study math. She plans to teach math at the college level.
