Teachers of the Year Named by Wentzville District

Building teachers of the year will compete to be the 2012 Wentzville R-IV School District teacher of the year.

All teachers are award worthy, but some get a little extra recognition. The schools in have each chosen their teacher of the year.

"The voting for the building teacher of the year is done by the staff at the building," said Matt Deichmann, Director of Community Relations for the district.

The winner from each school goes on to compete for grand title of 2012 district teacher of the year.

The District teacher of the year will be selected by a panel of central office administrators and the reigning District Teacher of the Year. Ashley Barton of was named the .

That teacher goes on to the statewide competition, which is run by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Deichmann said.
