Cox, Garber Win Board of Education Race

Sheryl Cox, the incumbent, had the highest number of votes in the race.

Incumbent Sheryl Cox will return to her seat on the Wentzville School District Board of Education after getting 1908 votes (22.29 percent) in Tuesday's election.

Incumbent David Hurst lost his seat to newcomer Saundra Garber. Here's how the rest of the voting broke down (100% of precincts reporting):

Michael Spiroff — 1012 votes (11.82 percent)
Aaron Schaper — 1256 votes (14.67 percent)
Sheryl Cox — 1908 votes (22.29 percent)
David Hurst — 1477 votes (17.26 percent)
Saundra Garber — 1535 votes (17.93 percent)
Shannon Sprock — 1343 votes (15.69 percent)

Write-in candidates won 28 votes.

Garber wrote in her candidate questionnaire for Patch that she is "a conservative who will bring my business experience and conservative principles and values to the table for all Wentzville School District residents."

Garber ran in last year's school board election but did not win a seat, losing to current school board president Terry Ratcliff, Heather Reiter and Courtney Tieman.
