Holt High School Graduation: 'To Improve is to Change'

This year's commencement was the district's first to be held at the Family Arena in St. Charles.

"Winston Churchill said to improve is to change, to be perfect is to change often," Superintendent Dr. Terry Adams said at Tuesday night's graduation ceremony.

Adams pointed out that the graduating class had seen many changes during their years at Holt: new schools, school additions, all-day Kindergarten, new AP classes, laptops for freshmen, the end of school I.D. badges.

Adams encouraged the graduates to become life-long learners.

"21st-century learners will use technologies that haven't been invented yet, to do jobs that don't yet exist, to solve problems that we don't know about yet," Adams said.

Wednesday's commencement was the first for the district to be held at the Family Arena in St. Charles, and that was also one of the changes Dr. Adams mentioned in his address.
