Holt Retires the Numbers of Three Female Athletes

The event marked the first time in school history that Wentzville has retired the jersey numbers of female athletes.

For the first time in the history of , three female athletes have had their uniform numbers retired. The outstanding alumni athletes are Becca Rogers (#42), class of 1995; Tiffany (Vehige) Albanese (#21), class of 1996; and Kristin Boeker (#13), class of 1997.

In a special half-time ceremony during a rivalry girls’ basketball game between Holt and on Dec. 22, the three alumni were recognized in front of hundreds of Indian fans for their accomplishments at Holt and on the collegiate level.

As an Indian, Becca Rogers held the school record for most career blocked shots (55) and still holds the record for career rebounds (935). In her senior year, she made the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Team.  

Rogers was a NJCAA All American (1997-98) at Jefferson College and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Master’s Degree in Education from Central Methodist University. While at CMU, she helped her team to a NAIA Division II Final Four appearance (1999).

Rogers holds three school records at CMU:

  • Single game rebounds — 25
  • single season highest average — 14.6 ppg
  • single season rebounds — 540, which is still a NAIA National Record.

She was named to the 1st Team All HAAC (1999-2000); NAIA National Player of the Week (1999-2000); NAIA 1st Team Division II All American (1999-2000) and she was inducted into the Hairston Hall of Fame (Central Methodist University) September 2011.

Rogers currently lives in San Antonio with her two children, Kannon, 8, and Jade, 7, where she teaches and coaches at a local high school.

Tiffany (Vehige) Albanese

Tiffany (Vehige) Albanese was the Lady Indians’ Team Captain for three years and in 1993 she led her team to a school record 24 wins, including the first ever Troy Tournament Championship. Albanese was an All-American Nominee, U.S. Army National Scholar Athlete and one of 20 seniors in the state to play in the Missouri High School Hall of Fame All-Star Game.

She holds the school record for most points in a single season (558) and the most points in a single game (40). She also holds two records in the Troy Tournament: most free throws made in a single game (19) and most free throws made in the tournament (37).

Albanese averaged 24.3 ppg and scored 1,570 points during her high school career, and added 374 assists.

Following high school, Albanese went to Florida Southern College on a basketball and academic scholarship. She graduated with her teaching degree and moved back to Wentzville where she began teaching and coaching basketball at Holt High School. She was the assistant coach at Holt for one year and then started the Timberland Girls’ basketball program where she served as head coach for six years, before giving up teaching and coaching to be a stay-at-home mom.

Kristin Boeker

Kristin Boeker was named to the All-State Team her junior and senior year at Holt. Kristin holds the school record for the most varsity letters earned in her high school career (12) in basketball, soccer, and softball. She was named to Who's Who in Sports in 1996 and the St. Louis Post Dispatch Athlete of the Year in 1997.

In her senior year, Boeker signed to play soccer for the University of Missouri. She was an Honorable Mention All-American Freshman in 1997; made the Soccer Buzz All Region Team as a Freshman; All Big 8 Second Team in 1998; and in her senior year helped lead Mizzou to a first ever national ranking and NCAA Tournament appearance.

Boeker is currently Associate Head Women’s Soccer Coach at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). She assisted in starting the Division I soccer program in 2006 as well as winning the first Southland Conference Tournament and making an NCAA tournament appearance in 2010. She also is the director of the UTSA Roadrunner Youth Summer Camps.

She currently resides in San Antonio with her two sons Keenan, 2, and Devin, 8 months.
