Wentzville School District Construction Report

Work on the new transportation facility is moving along; new budget outlines costs for future construction projects.

Matt McDermott from Hoener Associates reported on the progress of construction projects in Wentzville School District at last week's board meeting.

The new transportation facility on Hwy. A has 95 percent of the rock base placed for asphalting. The south bus lot recenty had 1000 yards of concrete poured in one day, but there are 6500 yards yet to be poured. 27-30 days of good weather will be necessary to complete the work.

Exterior work is ongoing. McDermott explained that only one overhead door has been installed, and it is being tested before the others are installed. The bus lift will be installed in two weeks.

In the office area,  dry wall and taping are 95 percent complete. Next up is work on the flooring and ceiling tile.

McDermott said that a total of 44 working days have been lost on this project due to bad weather. He projected completion dates of Aug. 1 for the office area, Aug. 25 for the shop area. Outisde work on the lots will depend on the weather, and landscaping will probably not be attempted until September.
