Wentzville School District to Accept $9K in Gifts at June Meeting

The board will also consider a plan for an asphalt walking trail at Boone Trail Elementary School.

At Thursday's regular meeting, the Board of Education will accept cash and gifts to the district totalling more than $9,000.

  • From MasterCard of O'Fallon, 30 Dell laptop computers. The computers will be distributed to classrooms and computer labs in the district. The computers are valued at approximately $6,000.
  • From the Grant Anthony Jansen Memorial Foundation of Lake Saint Louis, $700 for the purchase of netbooks for special education resource at .
  • From Olah Aarda of Dardenne Prairie, a Rifton Pacer Gait Trainer, valued at $2,300, to improve mobility skills of students.
  • From James Baird of Lake Saint Louis, books valued at $25 to be distributed to the library and classrooms at .

The gifts will be accepted as part of the consent agenda, a collection of routine items that are passed by the board with a single vote. The consent agenda normally includes items like the agenda, the minutes of the previous meeting and monthly financial reports.

As part of the regular agenda, the board will consider a plan for an asphalt walking trail at . The trail, which would be constructed on school property, would be 10 feet wide and 300 meters long.
