Wentzville Schools Still Need Help to Provide Happy Holidays

Thirty families still waiting for adoption.

Each year the Holiday Assistance Program helps to provide gifts for needy students and their families. Last year over 350 families and more than 1,000 children received assistance in this charitable effort.

Last week, Patch informed you that the had grown this year. As of Tuesday, there were still 30 families with over 100 students still waiting to be adopted.

"Ideally, we would like to adopt out the family - which consists of our students and their siblings," said Mary LaPak, Wentzville School/Community Relations Assistant.

LaPak asks that interested parties call 636-327-3800 ext. 20357 or email marylapak@wentzville.k12.mo.us to adopt a family. Those that don't wish to adopt a full family can donate cash or store gift cards so the district can provide for the unadopted families.

"As a growing District, it's inevitable that we will continue to see more of our families who have found themselves in need of assistance this year," LaPak said. "We are working closely with our school counselors, community groups, local businesses and individual donors to ensure that we reach as many of those students and families as possible."
