Wentzville Students Heading to Girls State

The American Legion Auxiliary has chosen 10 delegates and four alternatives to attend Missouri Girls State, which will be held at the University of Central Missouri June 19-25. 

The delegates are Caroline Hirniak, Meghan Ptthoff, Lauren Pinkston, Emily Ploch, Courtney Kubiak, Lani Tuitasi, Karrie Gustafson, Nathalie Rauschelbach, Crystal Canedy and Katie Triplett. 

Alternatives Kaylee Brueggeman, Courtney Schultz, Evan Jones and Sarah Quick have been selected in the event a delegate would be unable to attend the scheduled Missouri Girls State. 

Missouri Girls State provides young women who have just finished their junior year in high school the opportunity to come together to study city, county and state government. 

It enforces the understanding that every person is an integral part of the political process and has a responsibility to make tomorrow a better time, the world a better place regardless of religious or political beliefs. 

Missouri Girls State also provides an opportunity to form a local government structure to deal with problems and situations as they arise and to see the political process work effectively.
