Wentzville Teacher Wins Excellence in Education Award

Literacy coach Amanda Gift received the award from the St. Charles County Alliance for Business, Learning and Education.

literacy coach Amanda Gift has received the 2012 Excellence in Education award in the elementary category from the St. Charles County Alliance for Business, Learning and Education (ABLE).

The award was presented at during the year-end awards assembly. A very surprised Mrs. Gift said “I’m speechless, and that rarely happens! I couldn’t do this without the amazing kids and teachers in this district.”

Mrs. Gift’s responsibilities include teaching in the classroom, planning and collaborating with individual teachers and grade level teams, conducting book studies, and providing professional development throughout the school year. Nominators described her as having amazing strength of character and an abundance of positive energy.

The purpose of the ABLE Excellence in Education Awards are to recognize excellence in the teaching profession to those individuals who play a vital role in making a difference in the lives of area children and the community.

The St. Charles County Alliance for Business, Learning and Education was created in 2008 in collaboration with local business leaders and participating school district personnel to foster workforce readiness and educational programs for kindergarten through 12th grade students and teachers in the community. ABLE partners with local schools, businesses and organizations to design and deliver quality programs that focus on career development, career readiness and career exploration.
