Whiz Kid: Student Athletes

This week we salute the academic achievement of Wentzville's student athletes.

  • Nominated By: 
  • Accomplishment: The Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) has recognized Holt and Timberland athletic teams from the Fall 2010 season that had a combined grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher.
  • Key To Awesomeness: Combining great grades and athletic prowess to make their parents, teachers, community and the state proud!

Outstanding Scholastic Achievement is given to teams that have a combined GPA of 3.25-4.0. For Holt those teams included:

  • Girls Cross Country — 3.52 
  • Girls Volleyball — 3.46
  • Girls Golf — 3.32
  • Girls Tennis — 3.3
  • Girls Softball — 3.28 
  • Boys Swimming and Diving — 3.25

For Timberland, those receiving the Outstanding recognition included:

  • Combined Group Varsity Cheerleading  — 3.28 
  • Girls Dance — 3.41
  • Girls Basketball — 3.3 
  • Girls Varsity Swimming and Diving — 3.56

Distinguished Scholastic Achievement is given to teams that have a combined GPA of 3.0-3.24.

Holt teams receiving the Distinguished recognition include:

  • Boys Soccer — 3.22 
  • Boys Cross Country — 3.22 
  • Girls Cheerleading — 3.09

Timberland teams include:

  • Boys Wrestling — 3.0

Teams will receive a certificate from MSHSAA for their achievement along with recognition in an upcoming addition of the MSHAA Journal.
