Game Preview: Timberland to Face Short-Handed Parkway North

The Vikings (1-2) will try to even its season mark with a victory over visiting Timberland (1-2). Parkway North is still without star player Donavin Newsom.

Coming off a close loss to University City last week, Parkway North (1-2) will try to even out its record against visiting (1-2) on Friday.

The kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. for this non-conference matchup.

, in a tough road defeat last week. Parkway North is led offensively by senior running back Jovonte Suber, who has seven total touchdowns this season, including five rushing, one receiving and one TD return.

With star running back/linebacker Donavin Newsom out because of injury, Suber will be the primary threat to the Wolves' defense. He has rushed for 185 yards in 49 attempts so far this season.

Newsom, a University of Missouri recruit, had arthroscopic knee surgery and will be out for at least a three more weeks, and could miss the rest of the season.

Timberland will attempt to bounce back from a 49-6 home loss to Francis Howell. The Wolves' offense put up big numbers in their week one, . But they’ve not had much success since, scoring only 23 points in their past two games.

Junior running back Lucas Jordan has the skills to spur Timberland. Jordan has 413 yards and five touchdowns this season, and must be a major factor in Friday's matchup if the Wolves are to notch a victory.
