No Repeat: Slammers Knock Off Rascals, Claim 2011 Frontier League Title

Defending champion Rascals fail to repeat by losing final series 3-1 to the Joliet Slammers.

The Joliet Slammers scored three times in the seventh inning on Sunday to beat River City 6-5 and claim the 2011 Frontier League championship at Silver Cross Field.

The Game 4 victory gave the Slammers a 3-games-to-1 triumph in the best-of-five title series.

The Rascals, who won the crown last summer, captured the first game, but dropped three in a row.
