Wentzville Native Montee Ball Joins Denver Broncos

The Timberland grad was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the second round, 58th overall.

Montee Ball will continue his football career in the Mile High city. 

Ball, a Timberland grad and Wentzville native, was drafted in the second round of Tuesday's NFL draft. Ball was the 58th pick overall. 

Ball, the Football Bowl Subdivision's all-time leading touchdown scorer, was a Heisman finalist in 2011 as a star running back for the Wisconsin Badgers. He had a record breaking year in 2011. Ball has carried 275 times for 1,759 yards and 32 touchdowns, leading Wisconsin to the Big Ten championship and a berth in the Rose Bowl Game. He also was named the Big Ten Player of the Year.

The Wentzville native made his name with Timberland. He put large numbers during his senior season at Timberland. In 2008 he carried the ball 203 times for a whopping 2,187 yards and scored an area-leading 41 times.
