When is the 2013 NFL Draft? And Which Round Will Montee Ball Be Drafted?

Wentzville-native Montee Ball has been projected to be selected in the 2013 NFL Draft as high as No. 18 with the Dallas Cowboys. But most pundits think he's slated for a second round pick at best. The NFL Draft begins April 25.

As the 2013 NFL Draft nears, Wentzville residents have extra reason to watch. That's because Wentzville-native Montee Ball is expected to be drafted before all is said and done.

Ball, a Timberland High School graduate, was one of the University of Wisconsin's most prolific running backs over the last four years, when he rushed for 5,140 yards.

Ball, the Football Bowl Subdivision's all-time leading touchdown scorer, is one of the top running back's in this year's draft class. But with a draft class rich with defensive talent, Ball's draft prospects could have him being selected in the second round or later.

According to the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel, Ball is widely viewed as a respected, valued player that seems likely to be selected in the second round.

The highest Ball has been projected to be drafted is with the No. 18 pick to the Dallas Cowboys. That's according to a Yahoo! Sports report, which says thanks to the recent struggles in the backfield with Demarco Murray and Felix Jones, the Dallas front office should strongly consider taking a look at Ball when the Cowboys are on the clock at No. 18.
