The Wentzville Fire Protection District has launched a new and improved user-friendly website. The new site is designed to provide an easy, accessible, and customer-friendly resource that reflects what the Fire District does and the many services it provides. The site features each division of the Fire District, which includes fire rescue, fire administration and fire rescue support, and describes the areas of operation these divisions oversee. The condition of the home in the 1700 block of S. Service Road prompted the removal of the animals and children.
Nadine Gaspar, 35, and Sheila Cleek, 44, of Wentzville, were arrested May 8 on 45 counts of animal abuse and 5 counts of child endangerment. Twelve officers responded to an animal complaint call at 1:45 p.m. on May 8 in the 1700 block of the South Service Road. Wentzville Police confirm that the child endangerment charges were related to the condition of the home, and that the children and animals have been removed from the home. The animals involved were 11 dogs, 14 cats (one deceased), one rabbit, 18 birds and one pigmy goat. Gaspar and Cleek were released pending warrants. Sydney M. Lance was trying to turn onto Hwy. 61 from Hwy. P.
Sydney M. Lance, 16, of Wentzville was seriously injured in an automobile accident Monday afternoon at the intersection of Highway P and Highway 61. Lance's Honda was stopped for a stop sign but failed to yield to traffic, and was struck by a tractor trailer driven by Michael D. Bobeen, 46, of Troy. Lance then turned southbound on Hwy. 61 in the acceleration lane and attempted to change lanes to the right. She then struck a GMC Sierra driven by Darren E. Smith, 53, of Foristell, who was also traveling southbound. Lance's Honda then traveled off the left side of the roadway, crossed the center median and entered the northbound lanes of Hwy. 61, where she struck a Ford Van being driven by Matthew W. Montee Ball was given a $429 ticket for trespassing near the University of Wisconsin campus.
Police said an officer spotted him driving and exiting the SUV.
A Foristell man is charged with stealing an SUV April 28 in Wentzville. Wentzville Police said in a report that Matthew Martin, of Foristell, stole a 2003 Mercedes Benz SUV from 1592 Swantner Industrial Drive in Wentzville. A police officer saw Martin driving and exiting the vehicle, which had been reported stolen. Bond was set at $25,000. Martin posted 10 percent of the bond and was released Thursday.
