The St. Louis Rams have outlined a renovation plan for the Edward Jones Dome that is estimated to cost $700 million.
The Rams want us to buy them a new house. Just fixing up its current home—the Edward Jones Dome—won't do. Instead, the St. Louis football franchise expects an extreme makeover, to the tune of $700 million, as it is estimated by a company hired by the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission (CVC) to analyze the team's counter proposal to a the CVC's own plan to upgrade the Edward Jones Dome with a $124 million facelift. If someone doesn't cough up the $700 mil to redo the Dome, it is feared the team will take its football and go home to Los Angeles, where it came from before it was the St. Louis franchise. Track season is winding down and that means the weekends are getting more and more important. On Saturday, May 12, track athletes from all around Missouri gatherered for District meets. Runners, jumpers and throwers all took the track to keep the season going. Some did better than others. The nominees are: Chase Abbington—Fort Zumwalt South: In the fall, Zumwalt South's Chase Abbington showed he was fast on the football field. This spring he showed he was fast on the track. St. Charles Pirate Ellen Weaver's big week earns her the fan's choice for Athlete of the Week.
It appears the voters in St. Charles County are impressed by offense. Last week St. Charles High School's Ellen Weaver put on an offensive clinic for the Pirates. In two games she potted five goals and tallied two assists on the soccer pitch. It's a pretty big understatement to say that's pretty good. Weaver's impressive week caught the eye, and the votes, around St. Charles County. The Pirate picked up 72 percent of the vote to take home the St. Charles County soccer player of the week award. Natalie Weinhold—Lutheran High School: The Lutheran Cougars picked up a Archdiocesan Athletic Association win on May 3 against rival Bishop DuBourg. The Holt senior plans to attend Milliken University in Decatur, Illinois.
Holt senior Mitchell Wilfer has committed to play basketball for the Big Blue of Milliken University in Decatur, Illinois. With his mother Heidi and father Bob by his side, Mitchell signed his National Letter of Intent at Holt High School. Mitchell was named to the 2012 First Team All-Tournament at Fort Zumwalt North’s Invitational Tournament as well as the Second Team All-Conference for GAC South. Mitchell holds a 3.67 GPA, is a member of the National Honor Society and volunteers for MoDot’s Adopt a Highway program. He plans to study mathematics education at Millikin.

Francis Howell Central's Travis Vaught wins the "Patch" Athlete of the Week Award.
Travis Vaught had a big week on the baseball diamond for the Howell Central Spartans last week. He did even better in the Athlete of the Week voting. Vaught trounced the field in the St. Charles County Patch Athlete of the Week poll. Out of the nearly 400 votes cast, Vaught picked up a whopping 96 percent to easily win the award. Timberland's Savannah Drew will play for William Jewell College; Holt's Courtney Ferguson has signed with Culver-Stockton College.
Savannah Drew, Timberland Timberland senior Savannah Drew has committed to play tennis for the Division II William Jewell Cardinals in Liberty, MO next fall. With her mother Kathy and her father Bryan by her side, the team captain signed her National Letter of Intent at Timberland High School on Thurs., April 19. Savannah is an outstanding tennis player, having won districts, sectionals and competed at the state level all four years of high school. She is also a three-time GAC conference champion. In 2010 she earned fourth place at the state competition and made the All-State Singles Team. Savannah was named the 2011 Suburban Journals Female Athlete of the Year, and the 1380 AM Sports Radio High School Athlete of the Week. She also …
