Americans across the country are reacting with shock to the devastation caused by a 2-mile wide tornado in Oklahoma. Dozens have died, and President Barack Obama has declared the path of the tornado a major disaster area. If you would like to help, you can do so from your computer or mobile device right now. At last week's meeting of the Wentzville Board of Aldermen, the board voted to amend their contract with Gartenberg Construction Consulting for construction oversight of the Splash Station aquatic park project. The new contract reduces the city's costs from $87,000 to $80,000 because of a reduced scope of services. However, two additional contracts could push the limits of the contingency fund set for the project. The additional contracts were approved for two subcontractors—Waters Edge Aquatic Design and Jacobs Engineering—who had previously worked as subcontractors for Planning Design Services, the firm that was fired from the project. A Maryland Heights man is accused of breaking into a series of storage areas and travel trailers at facilities in Wentzville and St. Charles. David Kellerman, 40, of the 2100 block of Butterfield Drive in Maryland Heights, was charged Wednesday with two counts of first-degree property damage in St. Charles. He was charged Friday with four counts of second-degree burglary, three counts of property damage, two counts of felony stealing (more than $500) and three counts of misdemeanor stealing in Wentzville. Maryland Heights Police arrested Kellerman Monday. St. Charles Police said Kellerman used wire cutters to cut through a fence at Ample Storage Facility at 3690 Elm Point Road in St. Charles on March 2 and again on March 23. Once inside …
