Aldermen to Discuss Annexation/De-Annexation Issues

The board will also set an agenda for a strategic planning session in March.

At Wednesday night's public work session, the Wentzville Board of Aldermen will discuss the issues of annexation into and de-annexation from the City of Wentzville. The issue arose when the city received a request for de-annexation last November from the owners of four properties in the Meadowbrook Estates subdivision. In their letter to the city, the owners said that they had agreed to annexation when a developer approached them about running a sewer line through their properties to a new development. The property owners agreed to the annexation in exchange for access to city sewer system. However, the developer went bankrupt. The development, along with the promised sewer lines, never happened. City Approves Pre-Annexation Agreement

Next step in the process will be a petition for voluntary annexation for the property at Lake Saint Louis Boulevard and Highway N.

The Lake Saint Louis Board of Aldermen passed a pre-annexation agreement with Rhodes Properties at their regular meeting Monday night. The agreement clears the way for a petition to voluntarily annex the property into the city of Lake Saint Louis. The board discussed the agreement with city staff at the 5:30 joint work session. The Rhodes property, at the corner of Lake Saint Louis Boulevard and Highway N, currently includes a Plaza Tire store and a vacant lot. The pre-annexation agreement includes provisions for a curb cut-out on Lake Saint Louis Boulevard. A strip of land will be donated to the city for the future widening of the boulevard.
