Four Candidates File For SCC Board of Trustees

Two six-year terms and one two-year term on the SCC Board of Trustees are on the April ballot.

Editor's Note: This article was updated at 6 p.m. on Jan. 25. Names of candidates who filed were corrected to appear as they are printed on the ballot.  Four candidates filed for three open spots on theSt. Charles Community College Board of Trustees.  Two six-year terms and one two-year term are on the April 3 ballot. Filing ended on Tuesday.  The two six-year terms up for election are currently held by William R. Pundmann—who was elected to a six-year term on April 2006—and Jean Ehlmann, who was elected to a six-year term in May 2006. William Lohmar currently holds the two-year term. He was appointed to the SCC Board of Trustees in January 2011. He replaced his son, Timothy Lohmar, who was elected as a judge in Missouri’s 11th Judicial …

Filing began Dec. 13 and continues until Jan. 17. Three candidates have filed for three positions open on the St. Charles Community College Board of Trustees.

Three candidates filed to run for open seats on the St. Charles Community College (SCC) Board of Trustees on the first day of election filing Tuesday. Candidate filing began Dec. 13 and continues until Jan. 17.  SCC has two six-year terms and one two-year term up for election on the April 2012 ballot. Both William R. Pundmann and Jean Ehlmann's terms end in April.  William Lohmar, who was appointed to the SCC Board of Trustees in January 2011, replaced his son, Timothy Lohmar, who was elected as a judge in Missouri’s 11th Judicial Circuit. Lohmar’s appointment ends in April 2012, and a candidate is needed to fulfill the remaining two years of Timothy Lohmar’s term. Conoyer Social Sciences Building at St. Charles Community College, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Dr. in Cottleville. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Filings will not be accepted on Thursday, Dec. 22, through Tuesday, Jan. 3 or Monday, Jan. 16.

SCC Board of Trustees Welcomes New President to Meeting

Ronald Chesbrough attended his first board meeting as president of St. Charles Community College Monday night.

The room was the same, the agenda was just as lengthy, but there was someone new who sat at the front table Monday night with the St. Charles Community College Board of Trustees. The new face was Ronald Chesbrough, who attended his first board meeting as the new president of the college. Chesbrough, 54, was selected by the board on Aug. 27 to become the third president of the college in its 25-year history. Chesbrough started on Oct. 3 and spent two weeks with retiring president John N. McGuire to provide for a smooth leadership transition, college officials said. McGuire’s last day was last Friday. “Monday, I guess, was really my first day,” Chesbrough said. “It’s exhilarating and yet there is some anxiety.” But Chesbrough said he’s …

Kisker Branch Manager Resigns, Library Board Discusses Public Participation

Kisker Road Library Branch Manager Keri Cascio resigns. The board discusses more specific guidelines on public comments during meetings.

At Monday night’s St. Charles County Library Board meeting, the board announced Kisker Road Library Branch Manager Keri Cascio’s resignation. Cascio has accepted a job as a Director of Innovative Technologies and Library Resource Management at Linda Hall Library in Kansas City, MO. The library specializes in media on science, engineering, and technology. Cascio has been the branch manager at Kisker for the last seven years. She is also serving a two-year term on the executive board for the Missouri Library Association. "I've very much enjoyed my time working in the St. Charles area, and I was proud to have gone through the Vision St. Charles County Leadership program," she said in an email to Patch. Library District Changes Privacy Policy

New regulations bring district in line with state statutes.

The St. Charles City-County Library District Board of Trustees voted Monday night to change the way it handles the personal information of library patrons.  The board voted to change the district's policy on publicly accessible reserves. Currently the information is searchable via the patron's last name. The library will now use a combination of library card numbers with letters from the patron's first and last name. Each patron will be given their specific identification information, but it won't be obvious to others at the self-pickup reserve desks who held the book in reserve. The library will move immediately toward changing circulation software and book wrappers with the goal of having all the changes made by July 1 at all branches. …
