MoDOT will make an emergency repair to a broken grate on westbound I-70.
One lane on westbound Interstate 70 at the Blanchette Missouri River bridge will be closed from 2:30 p.m. through evening rush hour on Jan. 31 for emergency repairs to a broken drain grate, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation. Motorists are advised to avoid westbound I-70 for evening rush and use Route 370 or Route 364 as alternate Missouri River crossings. The additional lane reduction will leave only two lanes open for westbound I-70. Both directions of I-70 are already reduced from five lanes in each direction down to three lanes in each direction and all traffic is using the eastbound bridge. Crews are completing a major rehabilitation project on the 1958 westbound Blanchette Bridge. The westbound bridge closed in …

One lane of eastbound Interstate 70 will be shut down to allow MoDOT crews to repair potholes and other minor issues.
More lane closures are coming to the Blanchette Bridge. Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) crews will be shutting down one lane on eastbound Interstate 70 at the Blanchette Bridge on Thursday to fix some potholes and other minor issues. The lane will be closed from 10 a.m. to noon, weather permitting. The lane closure will reduce the drive-able lanes on the bridge from three to two. Both directions of the bridge have already been reduced from five lanes as part of the bridge rehabilitation project. The westbound bridge closed in early November and scheduled to be complete in fall 2013. Motorists are being asked to avoid eastbound 70 by taking Route 370 or Route 364 as alternate routes across the Missouri River. MoDOT is also …

Construction crews have started work on a new span of the Daniel Boone Bridge that will eventually replace the narrow, 1935 westbound portion connecting Chesterfield and St. Charles County.
Local officials praised the start of construction on a new span of the I-64 Daniel Boone Bridge as the culmination of many years' worth of effort at a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday. The ceremony included officials from the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission and MoDOT along with federal, state and local elected officials and area business leaders. "There are a lot of people who have worked hard for a long time to get to this point," MoDOT District Engineer Ed Hassinger said. The Daniel Boone Bridge crosses the Missouri River and connects Chesterfield to St. Charles County. The new $110.9 million span will replace the almost 80-year-old, narrower westbound portion of the bridge, which was constructed in 1935. The new …

MoDOT held an open house Tuesday to unveil plans for the new bridge.
The old bridge has stood since 1935, and MoDOT says it's time for it to go. The new bridge that will take its place over the Missouri River will have a very different look, but it will also offer new opportunities for hikers, bikers and sight-seers. MoDOT held an open house Tuesday at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop C facility to allow the public a chance to examine plans and ask questions about the bridge project. The new bridge will look similar to the Chain of Rocks Bridge in north St. Louis County, without the familiar steel upper framework. A biking/walking lane on the new bridge will connect the Monarch Levee Trail on the St. Louis side to the Katy Trail on the St. Charles side, and the trail will have a "bump-out" where …
