Stargazing Every Friday Night at Broemmelsiek Park

St. Charles County Parks Department offers free educational program.

St. Charles County — The St. Charles County Parks Department is again teaming up with the Astronomical Society of Eastern Missouri (ASEM) to present weekly public star shows in 2012. Every Friday night at the Astronomy Viewing Area of Broemmelsiek Park residents can discover different constellations and stars through complex telescopes. Weather permitting, the viewing through state-of-the-art telescopes begins at dark and usually last a couple of hours. Individuals and groups are welcome to participate in this free, educational program. Advanced registration is requested for large groups planning to attend an event. Volunteers to Serve in St. Charles County Parks This Weekend

Serve Day 2011 is this Saturday.

Dozens of community volunteers will be working in St. Charles County Parks from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Oct. 22, as part of “Serve Day 2011,” a community service day spearheaded by Calvary Church members in the greater St. Louis area.  Volunteers will be planting trees in Broemmelsiek Park, 1615 Schwede Rd., in Wentzville; planting trees in Quail Ridge Park, 5501 Quail Ridge Parkway, in Wentzville; and installing cedar fencing at Towne Park, the Parks Department’s newest development, situated off of Highway 61 near Wentzville.  Volunteers assisting in St. Charles County Parks should bring work gloves, eye protection, sturdy shoes or boots, and water. 'Paws in the Park' Was Tail-Wagging Fun

Broemmelsiek Park hosted the event for dogs and owners on Sept. 24.

A beautiful sunny day brought lots of owners and dogs to enjoy some fun in Broemmelsiek Park Saturday, Sept. 24. The event, which ran from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. was a free off-leash dog festival packed with contests, prizes, sponsor giveaways and K-9 and obedience skills demonstrations.

St. Charles County Offers Fall Hayrides at Broemmelsiek Park

Hayrides are available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, now through Nov. 20.

St. Charles County residents can enjoy an old-fashioned hayride with family and friends at Broemmelsiek Park, near Wentzville, now through Nov. 20. Groups of all ages are welcome to enjoy the fun of a hayride without traveling miles from home. Two tractor-pulled wagons take guests on a 45-minute ride through tree-lined fields of the park. Afterwards, participants can enjoy sitting around a glowing bonfire for an hour to roast their own treats. Guests may also bring non-alcoholic beverages, but glass containers are prohibited on the wagons or at the campfire site.  Advanced reservations are required by contacting the St. Charles County Parks Department at 636-949-7535. The cost is $125 a wagon with a maximum of 20 people per wagon. Hayrides…
