Team is striving for excellence.
Competition is in full swing for a youthful Holt wrestling squad hoping to maintain the school’s strong tradition of excellence in the sport. After graduating several key seniors last year the team is taking this season one match at a time. The Indians are building experience while also looking for solid performances from state qualifiers Clayton Ream (sophomore) and Brett Beckmann (senior). Holt has a 2-2 record in at dual meets this season with wins over Francis Howell North and Troy. The Indians took seventh place at the 16-team Ron Sauer Invitational in early December at Fox. A weaker than hoped for showing at the Toshiba-KCI tournament in Kansas City exposed the squad’s youthfulness but also offered an opportunity to grow through …
