Caddyshack Bar and Grill Owner: 'I've Tried to be a Good Neighbor'

The board of aldermen is looking into the purchase of equipment to test noise levels after complaints by residents who live near the bar.

John Wegeng, the owner of Caddyshack Bar and Grill stood up to speak at last week's Board of Aldermen meeting March 28. "Two weeks ago, the board had a discussion about my bar. They wanted my permit and liquor license pulled. But in the last three years, I've had zero violations," Wegeng said. "If I’ve done something wrong, then so be it. But I’ve done nothing wrong. I’ve tried to be a good neighbor to these people." Wegeng was referring to the previous Board of Aldermen meeting, when Ken Davis, president of the Heritage Pointe Home Owners Association, spoke about his concerns about the noise and music from Caddyshack and requesting that something be done about it. We have had a bad experience when 8 of us near the Senior age dined their. We left a cash tip and paid the bill with a credit with no tip . When we recieved our bill in the mail there was a tip added to our bill by thier employee. When trying to call, we were never able to get the owner on the phone. Needless to say we have not been back since.   more ›

Munch Madness: Rizzo's vs Caddyshack

You've heard of March Madness. This is Munch Madness—Patch's attempt to find the best restaurant in St. Charles County.

This week Patch launched its first-ever St. Charles County Munch Madness tournament!  Munch Madness runs along the same lines as the much-hyped college basketball tournament, except it uses St. Charles County restaurants instead of college basketball squads.  That's right, 64 restaurants all vying for top status in the county. All matchups were found by creating a randomized list via random.org. How do they advance, you ask? It all depends on your vote—on the site, our Facebook page and Twitter feed!
