Puffin is crate-trained and loves his foster mom.
Puffin is an eight-year-old male poodle weighing 9 pounds. He is blind in one eye but it doesn't affect him at all, he runs and plays just fine. He is very shy until he gets to know you and prefers women, men seem to scare him. He loves to sit with his foster mom and give kisses, he is a very sweet boy. Puffin is crate trained but needs work on his house training. Puffin's adoption fee is $100. "Hewey" is available for adoption from the Heartland Humane Society.
Nine-year-old Hewey is a well-mannered male Pekinese who enjoys watching t.v. with his foster mom. He was adopted two years ago but was returned after his family was unable to care for him anymore. Hewey is crate trained and is past the chewing stage. He gets along well with her other canine companions. Although Hewey is a little older than most of our dogs he is the sweetest and most loving little dog. Was it just a coincidence that the puppy on the rescue site was being fostered by friends?
(After the tragic loss of another pet, I started looking at dog rescue and adoption sites. My husband is fond of Aussies and Border Collies, so I looked up St. Louis Aussie Rescue. One pup jumped off the screen and into my heart. Imagine my surprise when just a few days later, the same pictures popped up on the Facebook page of a friend, Patch freelance photographer David Becker.
