All items collected from now until Sunday, Nov. 18 will be donated to the St. Louis Area Foodbank.
Qdoba Mexican Grill is once again hosting "Cans for Queso," a food drive to help support the St. Louis Area Foodbank this Thanksgiving season. The St. Louis Area Foodbank is the Bi-State region’s largest non-profit 501(c)(3) food distribution center dedicated to feeding those in need. From now until Sunday, Nov. 18, customers who bring canned goods or other non-perishable food items to any St. Louis-area Qdoba will receive a free order of 3-Cheese Queso and handmade tortilla chips. All items collected will be donated to the St. Louis Area Foodbank. Frank Finnegan, president and CEO of the St. Louis Area Foodbank said in a news release that in 2011, Qdoba patrons donated 3,399 pounds of food to help fight hunger in the St. Louis area. …

The Salvation Army provides emergency assistance for the homeless and the hungry, job assistance and training, low-cost summer camps and disaster relief, and they need our help!
The Salvation Army's Red Kettle campaign is almost at its end. Donations will still be taken until Jan. 31, and that's only a few days away. The mayors of 11 St. Charles County municipalities, including Wentzville, Lake Saint Louis, St. Peters, St. Charles and O'Fallon, have started planning for the 2012 Mayors' Charity Ball. The Ball will be held at the St. Charles Convention Center on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Music will be by the Motown Revue. Although the ball may be months away, work has already begun to secure sponsors for the ball, and to obtain applications from local not-for-profit organizations that would benefit from the funds this annual event generates. This is the 17th year for the Charity Ball, and the eighth year it has been held as an all-mayors event for all the municipalities in St. Charles County. ARBOR DAY SCAVENGER HUNT When/Where: Friday, April 1 at 12 p.m. at Progress Park. Why Go: The Arbor Day Scavenger Hunt is designed to get people out of the house and take advantage of spring in Missouri. At 12 pm on April 1, a list of Arbor Day themed items will be posted on the City of Wentzville web site. Participants must take a picture of all the items on the list and hand deliver them in an envelope to Progress Park office with name and phone number on the envelope. I would like to nominate Therapeutic Horsemanship in Wentzville. They do a great service to our community by providing horseback riding to allow individuals with disabilities an opportunity for therapy in a safe environment. It's amazing to see how horses can truly enhance one's life.   more ›
