A new study out by QSR Magazine rates restaurants based on their drive-thru quality. Wendy's and Chick-fil-A came in as the best while Burger King got poor marks across the board.
If you've driven through a Wendy's drive-thru recently, you've been graced with some of the best rate of service and accuracy in the business. That's according to a new study from QSR Magazine, which unveiled its annual drive-thru study on Tuesday. According to the magazine, the study determines the leading restaurant chains in several categories of drive-thru operations, such as wait time, service time, order accuracy, exterior appearance and speaker clarity. A group of six core chains were included in the study: Burger King, Chick-fil-A, Krystal, McDonald’s, Taco Bell, and Wendy’s. Restaurants were visited between the lunch hours of 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and between the dinner hours of 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. The findings may surprise those…

Even if you disagree, do you agree the company has a right to take a stand? Will you still "eat mor chikin"?
The nationwide media storm over the anti-gay-marriage stance by the president of Chick-fil-A came home to roost in the St. Louis area last week as local stores saw record traffic and huge crowds. Most of the visitors said they supported the stance taken by Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy in the Biblical Recorder on gay marriage. Later, in an interview on the topic, Cathy said: "As it relates to society in general, I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, 'We know better than You as to what constitutes a marriage.'" On Wednesday, a day conservative commentators dedicated toward showing support for Chick-fil-A, crowds gathered at the restaurant in the Chesterfield Valley and in Arnold. The …

The Chick-Fil-A controversy is NOT about gay marriage, our columnist says.
I typically don’t do this. I’m not a lightning rod nor do I wish to be. But something has taken place in our society and culture that I believe will shape us for decades to come. It’s something that will change us as a nation and will have a direct impact on your family. Of course I’m talking about . . . Chicken sandwiches! Unless you live under a rock or without any access to any news source, you know that our nation has been embroiled in this highly charged and public debate over gay marriage. This particular situation really got hot in July of this year when Chick-Fil-A’s president Dan Cathy said, “We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led …

Volunteers can get a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich for participating between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 27.
St. Charles County Health Department will stage a bioterrorism drill on Thursday in St. Peters, and practice dispensing preventative medication to about 500 people. Volunteers are needed to drive through the site and simulate picking up the medication between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. June 27. The first 500 "patients" who go through the line will receive a Chick-Fil-A sandwich. Doug Bolnick, spokesman for St. Charles County Health Department said the simulation assumes that a homegrown terrorist has distributed anthrax in St. Charles County through an aerial attack. "Within 48 hours of us discovering that happened, health departments are asked to give anyone who happens to be in the community medication," he said. On Thursday, more than 25 …

Lucky 100 now have to camp out for the day to receive free one free Chick-fil-A sandwich a week for a year.
They came with tents, computers, TVs and anything else they thought would help pass the time. In the end, only 100 were chosen to vie for a chance to win free Chick-fil-A sandwiches for a year. More than 150 people attended the Wentzville Chick-fil-A's First 100 Camp Out, a standard grand-opening affair that doles out 52 free restaurant certificates to the first 100 in line. Since there were more than 100, winners were determined by raffle at 6 a.m. this morning. Now, those selected will have to camp out on the grounds until 6 a.m. Thursday to claim their prize. Wentzville's long-anticipated Chick-fil-A opens Thursday. A week ago, standing in line for the free meals would have been considered somewhere along the lines of crazy given the …

Board of Aldermen received year end report.
It was a very good year in Wentzville, economically speaking. That was the theme of the year-end report by the city's Business and Economic Development Director Larry Tucker. Tucker presented his report at the city's last Board of Aldermen meeting of 2011. He told the board how the city started and ended the year on high notes with the announcement in the first quarter of 2011 that Sam's Club was interested in Wentzville and GM's announcement that it was adding jobs in the fourth quarter. "Either one of these would have been big during normal economic conditions," said Tucker. "But to land these in weak economic conditions is nothing short of phenomenal." Sam's Club will begin construction early in 2012, GM's new shift starts in January …
