Final Sentencing in Tee Kay Babysitters 'Horrific' Child Abuse Case

John Scott Thomas III received nine 30-year concurrent sentences, the longest of the three convicted child molesters.

The judge set the final sentence yesterday in a case that was described by law enforcement officials as "the most horrific" child abuse case they'd ever seen, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. The sexual assaults took place at the Tee Kay Mobile Manor off I-64 in unincorporated St. Charles County in 2011. Three girls, ages 7 months, 3 years and 5 years old, were sexualy assaulted by three neighbors who were babysitting. Third Tee Kay Babysitter Pleads Guilty to Sodomy

St. Charles County investigators said the cases were among the worst child abuse crimes they had ever seen.

A third babysitter pleaded guilty to sodomizing children as young as seven months old in the Tee Kay Mobile Manor area. St. Charles County Sheriff’s investigators said the crimes were the worst cases of child sexual abuse they’d ever seen. John Scott Thomas III, 28, of the first block of Tee Kay in St. Charles County, pleaded guilty Tuesday to eight counts of first-degree statutory sodomy and one count of first-degree statutory rape. As part of the plea, St. Charles County prosecutors agreed to cap Thomas’ sentence at 30 years. The defense can request a suspended sentence or can argue for a lesser sentence. Wentzville Woman Indicted on Child Abuse Charge

Police said spankings left visible imprints of belt and bruising three days later.

A St. Charles grand jury indicted a Wentzville woman Sept. 14 on two child abuse charges. Wentzville Police said that Betty Gage, 45, of the 1300 block of Meadow Ridge in Wentzville, spanked her children with a belt and a wooden paddle. The spankings bruised the children’s caused “significant injuries including bruising on the children’s thighs,” according to a police report. Police said three days lapsed between the incident and discovery of the injuries, but two children had a clear imprint of the belt used on their thighs. The children are ages 10, 7 and 5 years old. Wentzville Mom Spanked Kids With Belt, Wooden Paddle, Police Say

Police said a belt imprint was plainly visible three days after children were spanked by their 45-year-old mother, who is being charged with two counts of child abuse.

A Wentzville woman was charged with spanking her children with a belt and a wooden paddle, leaving bruises on their thighs. Betty Gage, 45, of the 1300 block of Meadow Ridge in Wentzville, was charged Aug. 10 with two counts of child abuse. Wentzville Police said in a report that Gage used a belt with a metal buckle and a hand-carved wooden paddle to spank the children on April 13, “causing significant injuries including bruising on the children’s thighs.” Although three days lapsed between the incident and discovery of the injuries, “two children had a clear imprint of the belt used on their thighs,” police said in the report. The children are ages 10, 7 and 5 years old. Bond was set at $1,000.

Tee Kay Babysitters Charged with Molesting Children

A woman and two men are charged with having sex with 7-month-old, and 3 and 5-year-old children.

In a crime St Charles County Sheriff’s Department investigators say is among the worst they’ve seen, three people were charged Thursday with statutory sodomy for having sex with children as young as 7 months old. The alleged abuse occurred at a residence in Tee Kay Mobile Manor in O'Fallon. St. Charles County Sheriff’s detectives said that three people who babysat for neighbors in Tee Kay Manor are accused of having sex with at least three children ages 5, 3 and 7 months old. Ex-Foster Parent for St. Charles County Charged with Child Abuse

Child suffered multiple broken bones, skull fracture and brain injuries as an infant in 2009.

A former St. Charles County foster parent has been charged with two counts each of child abuse and assault. A statement from the St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney’s office reads that Terri Cronin, 48, of St. Charles, “knowingly inflicted cruel and inhuman punishment” on a child who was six weeks and 11 weeks old at the time. A court document reads that on April 12, 2009, Cronin caused a spiral fracture to Shakur Casanova Knight’s arm. He was six weeks old at the time. Cronin told police the injury occurred when she slipped while carrying the baby down some steps in her home in the 3600 block of Meadowsglen Court in the Harvester area. She is not the only one who should be prosecuted, whoever decided this woman was fit to foster a child should be prosecuted. The foster care system is supposed to protect these innocent children, not send them to people who do more damage to them than their biological parents did or would have done. The Child Center Plants Pinwheel Garden

Field of pinwheels is in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention month.

The Child Center held its first ever Pinwheels for Prevention campaign this month, culminating with the planting of a pinwheel garden Friday. The Child Center is a child advocacy center, based in Wentzville, that serves 14 counties.  April is designated the national Child Abuse Prevention Month. Pinwheels for Prevention focuses on community activities and public policies to ensure that child abuse and neglect is eradicated in our world. The campaign was designed in 2009 by Prevent Child Abuse America. Since then, forty states have participated and more than 1.3 million pinwheel have been distributed. The Child Center Looks to Help

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.

When a child becomes the victim of abuse or witnesses a violent crime, their world is shaken to the core. They need to someone to care for them, to guide them through the chaos of the legal system and take care of their mental and physical health. In St. Charles and 13 surrounding counties, that someone comes from The Child Center, a child advocacy center based in Wentzville. The center's services are available free of charge to all children who need them. In addition to the Wentzville location, the center also has satellite offices in Hannibal and Memphis, MO. The Hannibal location serves Marion, Ralls, Monroe, Shelby, Lewis and Clark counties. The Memphis location, opened in late 2010, aids children in Scotland, Schuyler and Knox …
