An O'Fallon man who allegedly shot his estranged wife's boyfriend on Christmas Eve morning is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Jan. 4. The victim is Dennis Vehlewald, 42. "Everybody knows everybody here," said Lt. Craig McGuire of the St. Charles County Sheriff's Department. "There was no question about anyone's identity." According to the St. Charles County Circuit Court's Criminal Division, Paul J. Morrison, 44, has been charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.
