The St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment has released food-service inspection reports for November and December 2012.
St. Charles County Department of Community Health and the Environment regularly inspects food service establishments throughout St. Charles County, except for within the limits of St. Peters. Businesses are inspected one to four times a year or after public complaints. "Lower-risk" places, like gas-stations that serve pre-packaged foods, are inspected less often than "higher-risk" places, like a restaurant, said Doug Bolnick, spokesman for the health department. The establishments begin with a score of 100 and points are deducted based on the severity of problems observed. Mayor Pam Fogarty hopes that MoDOT will reconsider plans that might leave Hanley Road without access to the new interstate.
The St. Charles County Suburban Journal reported today that Dardenne Prairie Mayor Pam Forgarty wants to work with MoDOT and project designers to ensure that Hanley Road has access to I-364. Fogarty suggested that a roundabout would be less expensive than a traditional interchange and could help drive traffic to the city's downtown area. The second phase of I-364, also known as the Page Avenue Extension, was completed at the end of August, ahead of schedule, and brought the interstate to Mid Rivers Mall Drive. The final phase would continue from Mid Rivers Mall Drive through Cotttleville and Dardenne Prairie and terminate at I-64 near Lake Saint Louis at Highway N. A deadly home invasion on Wednesday night wound up with the homeowner shooting and killing an intruder.
A 20-year-old St. Charles man is dead after he allegedly invaded the home of a Dardenne Prairie family Wednesday evening. St. Charles County Sheriff's Department investigators are calling the break in totally random and the actions of the homeowner justified, according to a KTVI report. The suspect, who was shot and killed by the homeowner, is identified by police as 20-year-old William Carlton of St. Charles, the report said. Dana Knaust said accusations created a hostile working environment.
A Wentzville woman accused of having an inappropriate relationship with county sheriff's deputies while working at her government job is seeking unspecified damages from the City of Dardenne Prairie, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting. According to the report, Dana Knaust resigned her Dardenne Prairie assistant court clerk position Jan. 17 after the former court administrator said she had an inappropriate relationship at work with one deputy in particular. The married Knaust said those accusations created a hostile working environment, the report said. The suit has been filed in the St. Charles County Circuit Court. For more on the story, CLICK HERE.

Betty W. Brown-Fagan was involved in a three-car accident on Jan. 19.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a Dardenne Prairie woman was injured just after 7 a.m. on Jan. 19 in a three-car accident near mile marker 226 on Interstate 70. Betty W. Brown-Fagan, 53, received minor injuries when a car struck the back of her Honda Odyssey, caused her to rear-end the Toyota in front of her. Brown-Fagan's Honday was extensively damaged in the collision. Brown-Fagan was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in St. Charles. All drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.
