Valentina Valentina is an adorable long hair kitten, born 4/16/12. She has the cutest way of snuggling in your arms and purring away! She is friendly and playful, without ever getting too rambunctious, and she never uses her claws. It's fascinating to watch her prance around, looking for something fun to play with. Valentina is so, so precious. She is litterbox trained, too. Our $55 adoption fee includes a comprehensive veterinary package, lots of love from our volunteers and a free bag of Science Diet Kitten food. Aug. 26 is National Dog Day. That's the day animal advocate Colleen Paige has designated for honoring all those dogs who bring in the paper, and all those dogs who are neglected. Not to be confused with National Mutt Day (Dec. 2), National Puppy Day (March 23) or National Pet Day (April 11), each of the 19 national and international pet days founded by Paige are all designed with one thing in mind: to draw attention to the need for pet rescue. Paige, author, pet behaviorist and self proclaimed "pet celebrity lifestyle expert" founded the Animal Miracle Foundation and Network (AMFN), a nonprofit Christian faith based charity, in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina. Puffin is crate-trained and loves his foster mom.
Puffin is an eight-year-old male poodle weighing 9 pounds. He is blind in one eye but it doesn't affect him at all, he runs and plays just fine. He is very shy until he gets to know you and prefers women, men seem to scare him. He loves to sit with his foster mom and give kisses, he is a very sweet boy. Puffin is crate trained but needs work on his house training. Puffin's adoption fee is $100. Three-year-old dog named 'Dollar' loves running in the yard.
Dollar is a 3-year-old pit shepherd mix. He is so sweet and loving and would do great in a home with kids. Dollar is potty trained and has good manners. He got his name because he was so hungry when a volunteer found him that he ate dollar rolls meant for the geese. He would do best as an only pet and needs a fenced in yard. He enjoys running in the yard and going for walks. "Hewey" is available for adoption from the Heartland Humane Society.
Nine-year-old Hewey is a well-mannered male Pekinese who enjoys watching t.v. with his foster mom. He was adopted two years ago but was returned after his family was unable to care for him anymore. Hewey is crate trained and is past the chewing stage. He gets along well with her other canine companions. Although Hewey is a little older than most of our dogs he is the sweetest and most loving little dog.
