Sleeping Wentzville Man Is Victim of Sexual Act in Josephville

A St. Charles County deputy said the man awoke to find another man performing a sexual act on him, began yelling and punched the defendant in the face.

A Foristell man faces a criminal charge for performing a sex act on another man as he slept Sunday. Nathaniel Dickherber, 23, of the 10200 block of Forest Trails in Foristell, was charged Friday with deviate sexual assault. A St. Charles County Sheriff’s deputy reported that a group of people gathered in the 1300 block of Josephville Road in Josephville Saturday night to play cards. Deputies said there was casual drinking throughout the night, and all parties went to bed. Dickherber told several people he did not want to go to bed, and he stayed awake. A Sheriff’s deputy reported that at 6:15 a.m., a man sleeping on the couch—identified as a 23-year-old Wentzville man—was awakened to Dickherber performing a sexual act on him. The man began…

New Liquor Law Fails to Pass Board of Aldermen

The ordinance, which was requested by Wentzville Police Chief Lisa Harrison, would have prohibited drinking by passengers in a car.

A bill to prohibit drinking by anyone in a car—passengers as well as the driver—couldn't get enough votes for approval at last week's Wentzville Board of Aldermen meeting. Even though more aldermen were for the bill than against it, the new liquor ordinance needed four votes to become law, and only three aldermen cast that necessary "aye": Ward 1 Alderman Forrest Gossett, Ward 2 Aldermen Chris Gard and Ward 2 Alderman Sonya Shryock. Casting "nay" votes were Ward 3 Alderman Rick Stokes and Ward 1 Alderman Cheryl Kross. The second Ward 3 seat remains empty. When she asked for the new ordinance, Police Chief Lisa Harrison said that the amendment would prevent drivers from drinking and passing the container to a passenger if stopped by police…

Board to Vote on Prohibiting Any Drinking in Moving Vehicles

If the Wentzville Board of Aldermen passes the amendment, passengers as well as drivers will be prohibited from drinking alcoholic beverages.

At tonight's regular meeting of the Wentzville Board of Aldermen, the board will take a final vote on an amendment to the city's ordinance about alcohol consumption in cars. The amendment extends the reach of the ordinance from the driver to all the passengers in a moving motor vehicle. Exeptions are given for passengers in buses, party limos and motor homes. Chief Lisa Harrison, at an earlier meeting of the board of aldermen, said that the amendment would prevent drivers from drinking and passing the container to a passenger if stopped by police. Passengers who are drinking can also be a big distraction to the driver, Harrison said.   What do you think? Should passengers in cars be allowed to drink? Or is the city right in restricting …

The new sheriff is quite the little fundraiser, no? I agree Andy, this is disgusting, sell candy-bars! You already have tests for the drivers', test them, if they are not drunk, there is no crime. This is a revenue grab, nothing more.   more ›

Should Passengers be Allowed to Drink Alcohol in the Car?

The Wentzville Board of Aldermen discussed whether the city should create a policy to stop passengers from drinking in cars.

The Wentzville Board of Aldermen held a discussion during their last meeting to determine whether the city should work on a policy forbidding alcohol consumption in vehicles. Right now, Missouri state law forbids only the driver of a vehicle from drinking, meaning passengers in a car can drink alcohol so long as they are 21-years-of-age or older. Wentzville’s Police Chief Lisa Harrison drafted a bill that would outlaw passengers drinking in vehicles. Harrison said not allowing passenger to drink would help police control potentially intoxicated drivers. Only party buses and limousines would be exempt from the proposed law. “We have a lot of problems with the driver handling a drink to the passenger (when they get pulled over),” she said. “…

Thank you Andy. 1) Test the driver. If he passes the .08 one-drink law, then you don't have a crime. 2) Keep the 3 branches of government seperate. That's why there are 3, not just one big branch that covers everything. This skips over & discards the 'checks & balances' responsibility that these branches ACTUALLY have. It tries to assume a whole other role. Everybody is seems to be smarter than …   more ›

Parenting Is Hard

Being an example is never easy.

Parenting is hard. There’s no question about that statement. It is difficult. There are so many things to think about, guard against, and strive for that at times it can be overwhelming.  I watched a news report a few weeks ago about one more thing to worry about. It was on KPHO Channel 5 in Arizona and it reported that teens have been using vodka soaked tampons to get drunk during school. Both boys and girls are inserting them to get a quicker buzz without getting caught drinking. The danger is that the alcohol does not go through the liver but straight to the blood stream. If a person has too much alcohol they would just black out instead of puking it up. That may be an extreme example but teens are doing some pretty dangerous things …
