Lake Saint Louis Man Stole Items from Neighbors, Cars, Police Say

Officers found the items in a secret compartment in the man's home, Lake Saint Louis Police said.

Lake Saint Louis Police arrested a man who burglarized a neighbors home and stole items from three cars on Jan. 2. Police found some of the stolen items in a secret compartment behind a kitchen pantry in the man’s home in the first block of Cannes Court in Lake Saint Louis. Hi Laurie, The simplest solution would be to make an appointment at your local Apple Store. Their technical support is called the "Genius Bar" and appointments are free. If there is a repair that needs to be made, they quote it in advance. Just remember that you do need an appointment in advance. Walk-ins usually have to wait a while.   more ›

Patch Follow-up: WITS Recycling Friday, March 18 at Family Arena

Back at the end of December, Lake Saint Louis Patch posted an article about WITS recycling electronics. Now they're here in St. Charles County.

In December 2010, Lake Saint Louis Patch posted an article about electronics recycling. Reporter Michelle Blodget talked to Web Innovations and Technology Services (WITS) about their program. In the article WITS President Angela Haas said, "The way I see it is that what you see the most in the landfill is how what needs to be recycled should be defined," she said.  "So many parts of televisions, even the cords and wires, are recyclable." Recycling electronics is most commonly known as e-cycling, and the old electronics themselves are labeled as e-waste.  Haas disapproves of the term as a descriptor, stating, "We have to educate people that this is not trash." Digital technology has taken the world by storm, and it's no secret why. Nobody wants to deal with a piece of equipment that requires fiddling with an antenna or banging on to get a clear image anymore. Generally speaking, the term digital equates a better signal, sound and picture.
