GM, Sam's Club and Parks Top Mayor's State of the City Address

“In 2012, this city is going to build like we haven’t seen in 10 years,” Lambi said.

In his state of the city address, Wentzville Mayor Paul Lambi painted a picture of a city coming out of an economic downturn, led re-investment in the Wentzville plant by General Motors and an additional 1,260 jobs. Lambi gave his address during the Wentzville Chamber of Commerce meeting Wednesday at CenturyLink. 2011 Was a Good Year for Wentzville's Economy

Board of Aldermen received year end report.

Tucker presented his report at the city's last Board of Aldermen meeting of 2011. He told the board how the city started and ended the year on high notes with the announcement in the first quarter of 2011 that Sam's Club was interested in Wentzville and GM's announcement that it was adding jobs in the fourth quarter. "Either one of these would have been big during normal economic conditions," said Tucker. "But to land these in weak economic conditions is nothing short of phenomenal." Sam's Club will begin construction early in 2012, GM's new shift starts in January …
