Departing City Administrator: Wentzville Needs Strong Leadership, Civic Involvement

George Kolb served as the Interim City Administrator for just over five months.

Today, Friday, Feb. 15, is the last day of work for Wentzville's Interim City Administrator, George Kolb. Patch sat down with Kolb and asked him about his time in Wentzville, his accomplishments and challenges. Patch: How much did you know about Wentzville coming into the job? Did you research it? Wentzville Hires Interim City Administrator

The city worked through Interim City Management, LLC to place George R. Kolb in the position.

The City of Wentzville has issued a press release that George R. Kolb will serve as the city's Interim City Manager as part of a contract the city approved with Interim Public Management, LLC. Kolb has 40 years of city management experience, a Masters of Public Administration degree and is a credentialed City Manager. The press release states that Kolb should be assuming his duties with the City of Wentzville on Sept. 5. According to the agreement with IPM, the city will pay $3,100 per week plus expenses, provide a city vehicle for business use and pay lodging for Kolb. The city has also contracted the Mercer Group to find a permanent City Administrator, and once that happens, Kolb will continue with the city for a 45-day transitional …

I think $3100.00 PER WEEK is wwaaaay to much money let alone adding expenses, a car and lodging. Hope the city doesnt drag their feet in hiring a permanent administrator.   more ›
